Commendations

To Coolidge @fter Midnight, at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, for its idiosyncratic programming and remaining dedicated to 35mm exhibition.

To Robb Moss, acclaimed independent filmmaker and, since 1986, a film production teacher at Harvard University, for his mentoring and encouragement of several generations of appreciative students who have emerged as important filmmakers themselves. Those that have benefitted from Moss's tutelage include feature film directors Jesse Peretz and Andrew Bujalksi, and documentarians Lauren Greenfield and Nina Davenport. 2013 was an especially significant year for Moss's former students, with the release of Davenport's "First Comes Love," Jehane Noujaim's "The Square," Maxim Pozdorovkin's "Pussy Riot," and Josh Oppenheim's "The Act of Killing."
